Lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNNES successfully held an activity called “Mentoring for Financial Management and Business Analysis of Kalisidi Village-Owned Enterprises as an Effort to Create Transparency, Accountability, and Business Sustainability.” The activity ran from April to July 18, 2025, at the Kalisidi Village Office in West Ungaran District, Semarang Regency.
The community service team consisted of Amir Mahmud (Chair), Nurdian Susilowati (Member), Siti Ridloah (Member), and three students. Community service activities support the Sustainable Development Goals, such as no poverty (1), quality education (4), and decent work and economic growth (8), as well as industry, innovation, and infrastructure (9).
Amir Mahmud explained that the BUMDes financial and business mentoring activity is one of the community service programs funded by the Semarang State University’s Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM) program in 2025.
“The main focus of this activity is to strengthen the capabilities of BUMDes administrators in financial and business management so that they can predict the financial and business health of their operations,” he said.
This responds to the principles of organizational financial governance: transparency, accountability, and sustainability. Businesses run by BUMDes can exist and be responsive to current economic conditions.
During this mentoring session, initial discussions were held regarding the financial management currently implemented by BUMDes and the business strategies implemented by BUMDes Kalisidi.
Criteria/aspects of business analysis were also formulated to reflect future business conditions. The business analysis included an analysis of BUMDes business units, including determining business visibility.
BUMDes Director, Saiful, assessed this activity as very positive because it produced business analysis products that can serve as the basis for business management and a going concern business. Meanwhile, the Village Head of Kalisidi expressed his appreciation for the activities carried out by the UNNES lecturers. The results of this activity can be used as a basis for BUMDes business unit management, thereby enhancing business existence. Furthermore, it also promotes good, correct, accountable, and transparent financial governance.
