
Semarang, October 20, 2025 – The Dormitory of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) once again held the Dormitory Life Introduction Program (PPKA) from September 23 to 27, 2025. This program served as a platform to introduce students to dormitory life, foster character development, and instill values of togetherness among all UNNES dormitory residents, especially new occupants.
This year’s PPKA was conducted across four dormitories and featured various professional speakers from within the university as well as external institutions. Through this program, students were introduced to the dormitory culture to help them adapt and grow into more independent, disciplined, and accomplished individuals.
The series of events began on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Asrama Mahasiswa 1 Putri Kalisegoro UNNES with two main sessions.
The first session was delivered by Dr. A. Setyo Wahyuningsih, M.Kes., Manager of Puslakes UNNES, with the theme “Healthy Dorm, Better Achievement: The Importance of Exercise, Adequate Rest, and BPJS Card Synchronization.”
On the same day, Dr. Dani Muhtada, M.Ag., M.P.A., Ph.D., Lecturer at the Faculty of Law UNNES, presented the next session titled “Scientific Writing Strategies for Journal Publication.”
The following day, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, PPKA was held at the Asrama Mahasiswa 2 PGSD Ngaliyan with Zuhrotun Nisa, M.Ag. as the speaker. She presented the topic “Group Dynamics and Religious Life,” emphasizing the importance of tolerance, communication, and solidarity among dormitory residents of different faiths.
On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Dr. P. Erianto Hasibuan, M.M., Head of the UNNES Business Management Unit, delivered a session at Asrama Mahasiswa 3 Putra Sekaran UNNES with the theme “Humanistic Service.”
The next day, Friday, September 26, 2025, the session was led by Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Si., Head of the UNNES Subdirectorate of Conservation, who discussed “Sustainable Dorm, Secured Future” at Asrama Mahasiswa 5 Putri Patemon UNNES. This session also aimed to instill UNNES’s conservation values, particularly among new dormitory residents.
The PPKA program concluded on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with a session led by the Gunungpati District Fire Department Team, themed “Environmental Awareness and Vigilance.” The event took place at Asrama Mahasiswa 1 Putri Kalisegoro UNNES and became the most interactive session, featuring a hands-on emergency fire response simulation.
Through this series of activities, dormitory residents are expected to gain a deeper understanding of dormitory culture and its dynamics, learn how to maintain their health amidst academic routines, and develop the mindset to contribute their ideas through academic publications.
