Semarang, June 30, 2025 – Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through the University Health Service Center (Puslakes), has conducted Health Checkups for New Students of the 2025/2026 Academic Year as part of the official new student admission process. This initiative serves as an important first step to ensure that all UNNES students are in good physical and mental condition before starting their academic journey.
The initial round of health checkups for students admitted through the SNBP pathway took place from June 16 to 18, 2025, at Puslakes UNNES. The event was met with enthusiasm from the new students and was carried out professionally by the Puslakes team.
The benefits of this program were immediately felt by the new students, both in terms of increasing their health awareness and encouraging long-term health maintenance.
“This health check really made me aware that I have slight nearsightedness in my right eye—it’s not too bad, but I’m glad I found out. I think it’s really useful. Also, I found the whole process quite memorable. The service was good and well-organized, which made everything feel more comfortable and orderly,” said Khoirul Umam, a new student who was interviewed during the event.
This program marks the beginning of the health checkup phase for students entering through the SNBT and Mandiri admission tracks, which will be held in the coming weeks. Through this initiative, UNNES ensures the well-being of all new students as they begin participating in various upcoming academic activities.
New students are expected to take part in the health screenings in an orderly manner. The health check includes measurements of height and weight, blood pressure, color blindness tests, visual acuity (visus), blood type identification, and a general medical examination by a doctor. With these checkups, new students are better prepared to begin their studies in a healthy and comfortable condition.
