FIS UNNES Selenggarakan FGD Pengembangan Museum Bersama Silvy W. Puntowati

Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Semarang mengadakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan tema “Pengembangan Museum” pada Jumat (25/8), bertempat di Gedung C7 Lantai 3 FIS UNNES. Hadir sebagai narasumber, Silvy W Puntowati, alumnus Ilmu Antropologi UI yang kini bekerja di museum Volkenkunde, Leiden, Netherland.

Dalam acara yang dibuka secara resmi oleh Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik FIS UNNES Prof Dr Wasino MHum ini, Silvy memaparkan bahwa bangunan Museum Volkenkunde terdiri dari berbagai ruangan, yakni ruang pameran, ruang penyimpanan (gudang) dan kantor yang semuanya dirancang dengan baik.

Silvy yang sudah cukup lama bekerja di Museum Volkenkunde sudah sangat memahami dan mengenal fisik bangunan maupun seluruh koleksi Museum Volkenkunde.

Museum Volkenkunde saat ini, jelasnya, merupakan gabungan dari Afrika Museum dan Tropen Museum yang dikelola dalam satu manajemen. Menariknya, Museum di Leiden ini bisa mendatangkan income generate, baik dari kegiatan kunjungan belajar, maupun dari kegiatan perayaan ulang tahun dengan tema tertentu.

Sedangkan untuk koleksi museum, benda-benda etnografi dari Indonesia memang bukan menjadi koleksi pertama museum Volkenkunde, tetapi menjadi salah satu koleksi terbanyak di musem Volkenkunde.

Koleksi Museum Volkenkunde didapatkan dengan berbagai macam cara. Beberapa diantaranya yakni ekspedisi ilmiah, rampasan perang, penemuan pribadi, hadiah dari para duta besar dan kolektor, temuan arkeologi, dan hibah dari pameran dunia.

Beberapa koleksi benda etnografi dari Indonesia yang otentik adalah patung-patung dari candi Singasari, Keris Jogja dari Dr Groneman (Dokter pribadi Sultan Hamengku Buwono VI), Badik Teuku Umar, Harta Cakra Negara, dan lain-lain.

Silvy juga menceritakan berbagai pengalaman menarik selama bekerja di Museum Volkenkunde, termasuk bagaimana cara pengelolaan dan pengembangan Museum Volkenkunde secara garis besarnya. Dituturkan pula oleh Silvy bahwa gamelan berhasil menjadi daya tarik tersendiri bagi pengunjung anak-anak di Belanda yang sangat suka berlama-lama bermain dengan gamelan tersebut.

“Anak-anak di sana kalau ulang tahun banyak yang suka dirayakan dengan paket wisata di museum, mereka sangat suka dengan koleksi Indonesia, terutama gamelan, sehingga pasti tidak mau pulang padahal durasi waktunya sudah habis dan masih ingin terus bermain gamelan” tuturnya penuh kebanggaan.

Diskusi kali ini dihadiri oleh dosen FIS UNNES. Pada sesi tanya jawab, para dosen berdiskusi aktif terkait dengan pengelolaan dan pengembangan museum sehingga dapat menjadi sebuah museum yang menarik untuk dikunjungi bukan hanya oleh siswa atau akademisi dalam rangka penelitian, tetapi juga oleh masyarakat secara luas sebagai edu wisata yang menarik.
