Proyek Papat Limpad, kompetisi menulis bahasa Jawa yang digagas Wikipedia, resmi dibuka Senin (21/3). Hadir dalam peresmian kompetisi tersebut, selebritas Christian Sugiono. Sebagai Duta Pengetahuan Bebas Wikipedia, pria yang akrab disapa Tian ini mendukung sepenuhnya ajang kompetisi yang merangkul Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Jawa Unnes.

“Segala jenis pengetahuan berhak diketahui oleh semua orang. Bebaskan pengetahuan dengan menulis di Wikipedia, dan kalian sungguh berkontribusi untuk mengisi konten bahasa Jawa yang menjadi salah satu pengembangan versi Wikipedia. Saya ucapkan selamat berkompetisi, matur nuwun,” ungkapnya.

Prof Rustono yang membuka kompetisi itu secara resmi menyatakan apresiasi tinggi kepada gagasan program Papat Limpad. Secara general, nilai-nilai luhur budaya dapat dilestarikan melalui penulisan artikel berbahasa Jawa. Hal itu senada dengan visi Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni yang menjadi payung konservasi budaya di kampus ini.

“Lewat Wikipedia, konten-konten budaya dan bahasa Jawa dapat diunggahkan dan berpotensi diakses public dalam lingkup internasional. Jangan sampai ihwal bahasa Jawa justru diunggah dan dipatenkan oleh orang asing. “ ungkap Ichsan Mochtar, Wakil Direktur Proyek Papat Limpad.

Kompetisi yang rencananya diikuti 100 peserta yang terdiri atas 90 mahasiswa dan 10 dosen Unnes, itu akan dinilai berdasarkan kualitas dan kuantitas unggahan artikel. Juri dipilih melalui sinergi antara kontributor penulis senior Wikipedia dan dosen Unnes. Kompetisi dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, dan akan diumumkan 4 pemenang terbaik pada bulan Oktober 2011.
