Dosen Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Drs. Wagiran, M.Hum. raih gelar doktor pendidikan usai mempertahankan disertasi “Sistem Evaluasi Komprehensif Hasil Belajar Bahasa Indonesia di SMP”, Kamis 18 Mei 2017 di kampus Kelud Pascasarjana Unnes.

Di bawah bimbingan promotor Prof. Dr. Dandan Supratman, M.Pd., kopromotor Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum., dan anggota promotor Dr. Vismaia S. Damayanti, M.Pd., Wagiran meraih predikat sangat memuaskan.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitiannya, sistem evaluasi hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia saat ini tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya, dan masih ditemukan beberapa kelemahan. Pada evaluasi hasil belajar tahap awal, belum dilakukan pembelajaran secara komprehensif. Informasi tentang bakat, minat, dan sikap peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia perlu diperhitungkan.

Selama ini, guru bahasa Indonesia baru melaksanakan penilaian hasil belajar pada aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Pada tingkat kelas, dalam bentuk ulangan harian, ulangan tengah semester (UTS), dan ulangan akhir semester (UAS). Tingkat nasional, pemerintah mengadakan Ujian Nasional (UN). “Akan tetapi, penilaian aspek sikap, bakat, dan minat anak sebagai peserta didik belum mendapat perhatian, sehingga program pembelajaran yang ditawarkan tidak pernah mengakomodasi karakter siswa. Padahal bakat, minat anak beda,” katanya.

Maka dari itu, dibutuhkan pengembangan sistem evaluasi hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia untuk memperbaiki kelemahan, mempertahankan kelebihan, memanfaatkan peluang, dan menjawab tantangan pengembangan sistem evaluasi hasil belajar yang ada saat ini. Pengembangan itu diwujudkan dalam bentuk buku panduan sistem evaluasi hasil belajar.

Ketika diujikan pada guru bahasa Indonesia SMP negeri dan swasta di kabupaten Magelang, hasil menunjukan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Artinya, produk penelitian yang berupa Buku panduan pendidik: Sistem evaluasi Komprehensif Hasil Belajar Bahasa Indonesia efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengevaluasi hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia guru bahasa Indonesia SMP.

Selanjutnya, ia merekomendasikan guru bahasa Indonesia melakasanakan sistem evaluasi komprehensif hasil belajar dalam tugas sehari-hari secara konsisten agar kegiatan evaluasi menjadi lebih bermakna dan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap proses dan hasil belajar.

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan hendaknya juga melaksanakan refleksi untuk mempertimbangkan perubahan, pelaksanaan UN menjadi evaluasi nasional guna mengurangi dampak negatif yang selama ini ditimbulkan UN.
