Keberadaan guru yang berkualitas merupakan syarat mutlak hadirnya sistem dan praktek pendidikan berkualitas. Akan tetapi, hasil uji kompetensi guru (UKG) memberikan fakta, guru yang telah mengikuti dan lulus pelatihan model Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Profesi Guru (PLPG) belum optimal dalam perolehan skor kompetensi pedagogi maupun kompetensi profesionalnya.

Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil diskusi diklat guru matematika di Pusat Pengembangan dan Pemberdayaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan (P4TK) diperoleh informasi, pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika, guru masih menggunakan metode ceramah. Akibatnya, siswa cenderung pasif dan kurang memahami objek-objek matematika.

“Menghadapi kenyataan itu, perlu dikembangkan model pelatihan guru matematika SMP yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif serta mempunyai karakteristik solutif, mandiri, inovatif, dan berkelanjutan.,” kata dosen Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Drs. Mohammad Asikin M.Pd. saat mengikuti ujian promosi doktor pendidikan, Senin 10 Februari 2017. Dosen jurusan Pendidikan Matematika ini lulus setelah mempertahankan disertasi “Pengembangan Model pelatihan Innomatis untuk meningkatkan Kompetensi Profesional Guru Matematika” di kampus Kelud Pascasarjana Unnes.

Ketika diimplementasikan pada UKG, diperoleh nilai rata-rata 81,30. Sedangkan sebelum diimplementasikan diperoleh nilai rata-rata 64,45. Terjadi kenaikan sebelum dan sesudah implementasi model sebesar 16,85. Artinya, pelatihan dengan model innomatuis dapat meningkatkan profesional guru matematika di Kota Semarang.

Simpulannya, model pelatihan innomatis yang mempunyai karakteristik solutif, inovatif, mandiri serta berkelanjutan telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Selanjutnya disarankan untuk perlu mengadakan sinkronisasi program pelatihan yang diadakan dari berbagai komunitas guru matematika.

“Sebenarnya, keberhasilan utama terletak pada komitmen guru dan pengurus organisasi untuk mewujudkan dan meningkatkan kompetensi dan profesionalitasnya. Tak lupa, perlu dukungan kepala sekolah, dana, serta sarana prasarana,” tambahnya.
