It calls on university work units, canteens, and vendors to reduce the use of single-use plastic products, including plastic bags, bottles, and food packaging. These requirements encourage the use of reusable or environmentally friendly alternatives and promote responsible waste management throughout campus operations.

Traditional boiled foods served on a tampah during an FMIPA UNNES activity. Activities conducted on campus are expected to support the university’s plastic reduction objectives by limiting disposable materials and adopting more sustainable practices. This helps ensure that environmental standards remain part of campus activities, regardless of whether they are organized by internal units or external parties.

UNNES also reinforces its sustainability commitments through Rector’s Regulation No. 125 of 2024 concerning the Prohibition of Single-Use Plastics and Rector’s Regulation No. 79 of 2024 concerning the Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods and Services. Together, these policies provide a broader framework for reducing plastic waste and encouraging environmentally responsible practices in procurement and campus operations.

Rector’s Regulation No. 125 of 2024.
