The SDGs Literacy Test is administered through an online form accessible to students across faculties<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SEMARANG, Indonesia<\/strong> \u2014 Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) assessed the sustainability knowledge of <strong>718 students from nine faculties<\/strong> through its <strong>SDGs Literacy Test<\/strong>, an assessment instrument developed in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Administered through an online form, the test comprised <strong>35 scored items<\/strong> covering sustainability concepts and their application in everyday life and society. Topics included quality education, responsible consumption, climate action and partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Respondents achieved an <strong>average score of 34.14 out of 35<\/strong>, with <strong>98.3 per cent scoring at least 30<\/strong>. The results provide a record of sustainability knowledge among participating students across different academic disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Using Assessment to Inform Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"601\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2026\/10\/image-20.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7097\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2026\/10\/image-20.png 640w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2026\/10\/image-20-300x282.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The UNNES SDGs Literacy Test online form, designed to assess the university community\u2019s knowledge, attitudes and behaviours related to sustainability, alongside perceptions of the university\u2019s role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The test gives UNNES a structured mechanism for reviewing students\u2019 understanding of sustainable development. Its findings can inform the review of learning outcomes and help identify topics requiring further attention in teaching and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation across nine faculties enabled the university to gather evidence beyond a single study programme. The findings describe the students who completed the assessment and provide a basis for further monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Connecting Sustainability Learning with Measurement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The assessment complements UNNES\u2019s broader sustainability education framework, which includes curriculum development, Conservation Education and university sustainability initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By combining educational activities with a scored assessment, UNNES can examine how participating students understand sustainability concepts and use the results to guide educational improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An institutional assessment provides evidence to inform sustainability education across academic disciplines.
