As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, UNNES actively promotes the responsible use of water through educational campaigns and campus-wide competitions. These initiatives aim to cultivate awareness and collective action toward water conservation among students, staff, and faculty members.
Each year, in celebration of World Water Day, conservation clusters or sustainability teams within each faculty organize a series of awareness campaigns. These include workshops, exhibitions, and creative outreach activities designed to encourage the university community to adopt wise water-use behaviors and appreciate the value of water as a shared resource.
In addition to these campaigns, UNNES also conducts the Sustainable Unit Competition, an institutional contest involving all faculties and administrative units. The competition recognizes and rewards work units that demonstrate excellence in sustainable practices, including water efficiency, waste reduction, and green innovation.
