The forum, themed \u201cBreaking Barriers in Sustainable Development through Scientific, Inclusive, and Equitable Solutions,\u201d is a special event of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing UNNES, Alfath Yanuarto, Head of the UNNES SDGs Center, actively participated in the virtual discussions alongside global academics, policymakers, and UN agencies. The forum reviewed progress on SDG 3 (Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Economic Growth and Decent Work), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"998\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/10\/image-20-1024x998.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3504\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/10\/image-20-1024x998.png 1024w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/10\/image-20-300x293.png 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/10\/image-20-768x749.png 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/10\/image-20.png 1202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of the forum include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Exploring data-driven and interdisciplinary approaches to advance SDGs;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting inclusive and equitable education systems responsive to marginalized communities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhancing collaboration between academia, government, industry, and civil society, with an emphasis on South\u2013South cooperation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognizing the role of students, educators, and researchers in accelerating sustainable development; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing a platform for higher education engagement in policy, research, and community partnerships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this participation, UNNES reinforces its role as a Conservation University committed to advancing global dialogue on sustainability, policy engagement, and inclusive education\u2014ensuring that higher education contributes meaningfully to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through its SDGs Center, continues to strengthen its international engagement in sustainability by taking part in the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) Global Forum held virtually on 21 July.
