As part of its sustainability agenda, UNNES ensures that psychological health receives the same level of attention as academic and physical development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This effort aligns with the national directives of Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), which emphasize mental health promotion as a component of university well-being standards under the Kampus Sehat (Healthy Campus) framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university\u2019s mental health initiatives operate in harmony with Rector\u2019s Regulation Number 10 of 2016 on Green, Clean, and Healthy Campus Management, which outlines the creation of a safe, comfortable, and healthy academic environment. The regulation underlines UNNES\u2019s belief and dedication that every student must be able to learn under supportive circumstances to guarantee that they can reach their potential in college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-1024x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4689\" style=\"width:277px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-1024x1024.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-768x768.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-500x500.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprehensive Counseling and Mental Health Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The implementation of mental health services is regulated by <a href=\"http:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/11\/pertor-117-tahun-2024-68a3d83335508-1.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/11\/pertor-117-tahun-2024-68a3d83335508-1.pdf\"><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">UNNES Rector Regulation No. 117 of 2024,<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> which affirms the right of all academic staff and students to access psychological support. Recognizing that mental balance is fundamental to achieving academic success, UNNES offers free and accessible counseling services through the Career and Counseling Center of the Language Services, Education Training, Career Guidance, and Disability Center (LPPP) and the Faculty of Education and Psychology\u2019s Counseling Laboratory. These services are staffed by certified psychologists and professional counselors who provide:\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual and group counseling for students facing academic or personal stress;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Psychotherapy for those requiring deeper psychological support;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency mental health assistance for crisis situations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educational workshops and awareness campaigns promoting mental health literacy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1-1024x413.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1-1024x413.png 1024w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1-300x121.png 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1-768x310.png 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1-1536x619.png 1536w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture1.png 1962w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The services are provided <strong>free<\/strong> of charge for all students. <strong>Counseling sessions last 60 minutes<\/strong> and can be accessed through the official UNNES Counseling Service website<a href=\"https:\/\/labbkunnes.carrd.co\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/labbkunnes.carrd.co\/\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong> (https:\/\/labbkunnes.carrd.co\/)<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> or the social media account (Instagram <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bkunnes_\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">@bkunnes<\/mark>_<\/a>). Students can access these services both on campus and online, and they can also choose to do peer counseling with Peer Counselor Community (PCC). This program is designed to help students feel more connected to peer counselors who have experienced similar challenges, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. <strong>Every month, around 50-70 students<\/strong> use this counseling service. The Faculty of Education and Psychology\u2019s Counseling Laboratory also offers paid counseling services at an affordable cost of Rp. 20,000 if students wish to attend counseling without queuing and choose their own counselor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNNES also provides Peer Counseling Services through the FIPP UNNES Peer Counselor Community, known as <strong>Kawan Dengar UNNES<\/strong>. One counseling session is 60-90 minutes with one client being able to receive three counseling sessions. This program serves as a safe space for students to share stories, listen, and provide emotional support to one another. This initiative has received positive feedback for its ability to strengthen communication between students and the university regarding mental health issues. This service is accessible free of charge through the Instagram official account (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kawan.dengar\/\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">@kawan.denga<\/mark>r<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strengthening Mental Health Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center for Educational and Community Counseling Studies (PK2PK BK) of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) consistently contributes to awareness about emotional wellness across the university. Its program, \u201cSparkling: Seputar Kajian Bimbingan dan Konseling\u201d brings together academics and practitioners to discuss concrete actions for improving mental health literacy among adolescents and special populations., including students themselves around the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, a public campaign titled <strong>\u201cMental Health Campaign\u201d<\/strong> was held on October 11, 2024. The activities include mental health speeches, distribution of candy containing positive affirmations, and posting of hopes and prayers on the expression wall. At the same time, an <strong>\u201cI Hear You\u201d<\/strong> session was also held, offering free counseling services by the UNNES Peer Counselor Community. Similar campaigns were also held on October 12 and November 3, 2024 at two locations, UNNES and Car Free Day at Simpang Lima Semarang.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"378\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2-1024x378.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2-1024x378.png 1024w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2-768x284.png 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2-1536x568.png 1536w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/Picture2.png 1973w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Career and Counseling Center regularly hosts interactive workshops such as <strong>\u201cMental Flexibility: The Key to Overcoming Study Completion Challenges,\u201d <\/strong>aimed at helping final-year students manage stress and develop resilience during their thesis-writing process.\u200b Another program, <strong>Basic Service Guidance and Counseling \u201cMental First Aid: First Aid for Stress for Students\u201d<\/strong> on October 09, 2024 provides a forum for psychological first aid training, emotional awareness, and confidence building. In addition, the Counseling Services Week<em> <\/em>activity which is held regularly, provides free assistance to all UNNES students. Counseling Services Week: <strong>\u201cProblem Solving Resolution: Solving Problems Without Feeling Anxious\u201d <\/strong>was also held on September 20, 2024. This activity was attended by hundreds of participants consisting of students, lecturers, and education practitioners from various regions. This event presented two renowned speakers, Prof. Drs. Suroto, M.A., Ph.D. (Universitas Negeri Surabaya) and Luftiah, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D. (Universitas Negeri Semarang). This seminar discussed current issues related to the importance of physical education in supporting the mental health of students in the modern era.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-15-819x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4713\" style=\"width:367px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-15-819x1024.jpeg 819w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-15-240x300.jpeg 240w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-15-768x960.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/06\/image-15.jpeg 864w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond that, UNNES also prioritizes mental health education through various creative media and reflective activities. This activity was attended by 67 students. Another program, UMH 2024 Talkshow: <strong>\u201cEmbracing Emotions, Find Your Best Motions\u201d<\/strong> on November 02, 2024, featured inspirational speakers who discussed the importance of recognizing and managing emotions in a healthy way as the foundation for mental well-being and student productivity. This activity was attended by more than 250 students. Through this series of services, campaigns, and educational initiatives, UNNES demonstrates its commitment to building a campus ecosystem that supports mental health, inclusivity, and the well-being of all its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Creating a Safe and Supportive Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these integrated programs, UNNES cultivates a supportive academic community that prioritizes empathy, safety, and inclusion. By promoting peer support, accessibility, and professional psychological care, the university ensures that every student feels secure and valued.UNNES\u2019s ongoing mission is clear: to foster a \u201c<strong>Healthy and Happy Campus Life<\/strong>\u201d where mental well-being is treated as an essential foundation for intellectual and personal growth.
