It reflects UNNES\u2019s commitment to fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated and equal rights are protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To further strengthen its inclusive education initiatives, UNNES has also collaborated with international experts by having collaboration on research and lecture series with <a href=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fipp\/id\/2024\/06\/10\/fipp-unnes-gelar-guest-lecture-memperkenalkan-pendidikan-inklusif-di-australia\/\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Professor Shiralee Poed<\/mark><\/a>, an inclusive education specialist from the University of Queensland, Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Creating a Safe and Respectful Academic Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNNES upholds a strong ethical standard that requires all members of its community\u2014professors, staff, and students\u2014to maintain a learning and working environment free from discrimination, violence, abuse, and bullying. The policy establishes clear behavioral expectations and promotes mutual respect as a cornerstone of university culture. Through preventive measures, education campaigns, and responsive mechanisms, UNNES ensures that its academic and social environment supports physical, emotional, and psychological safety for everyone. This approach aligns with SDG 4\u2019s emphasis on inclusive, safe, and effective learning environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) reaffirms its strong commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment through the implementation of the Anti-Harassment Policy as outlined in <a href=\"http:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/11\/10.-CAP-PR-UNNES-NOMOR-115-TH-2024-PENCEGAHAN-DAN-PENANGANAN-KEKERASAN-1-1.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/11\/10.-CAP-PR-UNNES-NOMOR-115-TH-2024-PENCEGAHAN-DAN-PENANGANAN-KEKERASAN-1-1.pdf\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Rector\u2019s Regulation Number 115 of 2024<\/mark><\/a>. The regulation establishes a comprehensive framework for preventing and addressing harassment and violence throughout the entire university community. This policy applies to students, educators, and administrative staff, setting clear guidelines for preventing misconduct, handling complaints, and enforcing disciplinary measures. This policy translates into concrete actions such as inclusive teaching approaches, accessibility improvements for students with disabilities, and the integration of diversity education into curricula. Each faculty, department, and administrative unit plays an active role in translating institutional policy into daily practices that strengthen community cohesion and educational equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One concrete example on strengthening community on inclusivity is a community service initiative led by the faculties in Sambirejo Village, Semarang Regency. Through a training program titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/new-weapons-to-face-inclusive-classes-fipp-unnes-community-service-team-strengthens-elementary-school-teachers-competence-in-sambirejo-village-semarang-regency\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/sdgs\/new-weapons-to-face-inclusive-classes-fipp-unnes-community-service-team-strengthens-elementary-school-teachers-competence-in-sambirejo-village-semarang-regency\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Enhancing Elementary School Teachers\u2019 Competence in Implementing Adaptive Learning for Inclusive Classrooms<\/mark><\/a><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">,<\/mark>\u201d UNNES faculties helped local teachers develop adaptive teaching skills to accommodate students with special needs. UNNES also held educational events of educational <a href=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/konservasi\/id\/sd-inklusi-fun-play-lakukan-outting-class-di-unnes\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/konservasi\/id\/sd-inklusi-fun-play-lakukan-outting-class-di-unnes\/\"><mark style=\"color:#0c91df\" class=\"has-inline-color\">outing class with students from inclusive schools.<\/mark><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another inclusive program was carried out through the KINEMATIKA 2024 event themed \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/matematika-untuk-semua-pendidikan-matematika-unnes-gelar-inovasi-pendidikan-inklusif\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/matematika-untuk-semua-pendidikan-matematika-unnes-gelar-inovasi-pendidikan-inklusif\/\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Innovation Without Limits: Creating Learning Media for Students with Disabilities.<\/mark><\/a>\u201d In this program, students designed mathematics learning media for children with various disabilities \u2014 from visually impaired to autistic students \u2014 aiming to realize equal learning rights for all. Additionally, UNNES\u2019s inclusive admission policies are guided by the principles of fairness, accountability, transparency, and integrity, ensuring that entry into the university is based solely on merit and opportunity, without discrimination. Through these comprehensive policies, UNNES reinforces its dedication to equity at every stage of the educational journey\u2014from admission to graduation.<br>The Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) implements its new student admission process in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 62 of 2023, which amends the <a href=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/05\/Panduan-Akademik-UNNES-2024-Perubahan-Kesatu-14052025-Final.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unnes.ac.id\/fh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2025\/05\/Panduan-Akademik-UNNES-2024-Perubahan-Kesatu-14052025-Final.pdf\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Academic Guidelines of UNNES 2024<\/mark><\/a> and refers to Ministerial Regulation Number 48 of 2022 on the Admission of New Students for Diploma and Bachelor\u2019s Programs at State Universities.<br>UNNES ensures that the admission of new students is carried out based on the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fairness \u2014 The admission process must not discriminate against any applicant based on religion, ethnicity, race, gender, age, social status, physical condition, or economic background, while still taking into account the applicant\u2019s academic potential, achievements, and the specific characteristics of each study program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accountability \u2014 The process is conducted in accordance with clear procedures and criteria, ensuring the integrity and reliability of every stage of implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexibility \u2014 Admissions are organized multiple times, allowing each prospective student to participate in the selection process up to two times, thereby widening access and opportunity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efficiency \u2014 The implementation of entrance tests utilizes information and communication technology (ICT) to optimize resources, streamline processes, and ensure time flexibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transparency \u2014 Every stage of the admission process is carried out openly, and the results are made easily accessible to the public to maintain trust and credibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to Educational Integrity \u2014 The process upholds the principle that the status of a State University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) must not become a gateway to the liberalization of higher education. Instead, it reinforces the spirit of inclusivity and national education values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a robust combination of institutional policies, regulatory frameworks, and active support systems, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) embodies its role as an inclusive and anti-discrimination university. By translating policy into practice, UNNES ensures that access to education, facilities, and opportunities is truly open to all\u2014regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or socioeconomic background.
