The initiative underscores UNNES\u2019s mission to provide inclusive, equitable, and quality education by ensuring broader access to knowledge resources for both the academic community and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new policy mandates all units within UNNES to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide adequate library services to support the university\u2019s <em>Tri Dharma<\/em> (education, research, and community service).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure free access to e-books that complement library services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open library and e-book access not only to students, lecturers, and staff but also to the surrounding community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guarantee that all listed library and e-book services are free of charge<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>By granting free access to both physical and digital resources, UNNES aims to strengthen academic performance, promote research productivity, and encourage community engagement. The policy ensures that information and learning resources are not restricted by financial barriers, thereby fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and lifelong learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice Rector for Planning, General Affairs, Human Resources, and Finance, Prof. Heri Yanto, M.B.A., Ph.D., emphasized that this step demonstrates UNNES\u2019s active role in promoting equal opportunities in education. <em>\u201cBy providing free access to libraries and e-books, UNNES ensures that quality education is accessible to all, empowering not only our academic community but also the wider society,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The policy directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education, which calls for inclusive and equitable access to education and lifelong learning opportunities.
