The Forum of State University Rectors across Indonesia held a tree-planting event in the new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), on August 24\u201326, 2025. This activity is part of ongoing efforts to support environmental conservation, with the Faculty of Languages and Arts of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) actively participating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by the Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., all faculty deans, as well as the Vice Deans III from every faculty at UNNES. In addition, UNNES also signed a cooperation agreement with Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, as a form of strengthening international relations and enhancing the quality of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tree planting in IKN is aligned with the Forest City<\/em> concept developed by the IKN Authority, which aims to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly city. This initiative is expected to bring positive impacts both for the environment and the surrounding community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through this event, UNNES demonstrated its commitment to supporting the SDGs and environmental preservation, while also encouraging the public to be more aware of environmental issues. The Faculty of Languages and Arts at UNNES itself offers several study programs relevant to conservation and sustainability issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The activities included tree planting in IKN, signing a cooperation agreement with Prince of Songkla University to improve the quality of education and research, as well as strengthening international relations between UNNES and Prince of Songkla University.
