Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has a great potential to become a sustainable campus. In addition to its vision as a Conservation-Minded University, UNNES also demonstrates numerous best practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was conveyed by the President of the Indonesia SDGs Center Network, Bayu Arie Fianto, during the Focus Group Discussion on University-Level SDGs Governance held on Tuesday (18\/6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lecturer from Universitas Airlangga (Unair), Bayu believes that UNNES also possesses other strong potentials such as institutional policies, research activities, community service, and academic programs that reflect its commitment to becoming a sustainable university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he pointed out that the main challenge lies in collecting evidence to ensure these activities are recognized by ranking institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can see UNNES is an excellent campus. It has eco-farms and environmentally friendly technologies that align with the SDGs,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To address these challenges, he emphasized the importance of building an integrated information system that consolidates all relevant data. This system would facilitate reporting and ensure that such efforts are acknowledged in global rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, he encouraged universities to focus on realizing the values of the SDGs, while considering rankings as an added bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UNNES Vice Rector IV, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, also expressed confidence in the university\u2019s great potential. He urged all stakeholders to contribute by organizing and submitting data to support effective reporting efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
