In commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1446 H, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) distributed qurbani (sacrificial animals) as a tangible expression of social compassion and the spirit of sharing on Friday (6\/6\/2025). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the committee chairperson, Ali Formen, Ph.D., UNNES, through the Islamic Charity Board (BAI), collected 13 cattle from 91 qurbani participants and 6 goats from 6 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn addition, we also received donations in the form of two extra goats and a total of IDR 17,300,000 in cash,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. S. Martono, expressed his appreciation for the high level of enthusiasm shown by the academic community in participating in this year’s qurbani. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEid al-Adha is not merely a tradition, but also a moment to cultivate compassion and the spirit of sharing with others. This spirit aligns with the value of social care, which is the soul of UNNES as a conservation-minded university,\u201d said the Professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Chair of UNNES BAI, Dr. Moh. Solehatul Mustofa, M.A., stated that the distribution of qurbani was carried out with strong consideration for the principles of social compassion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe distributed the qurbani meat into 2,000 packages for the surrounding communities and rightful recipients. The farthest destination was an Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Jepara. This reflects UNNES’s commitment to maintaining harmonious relations with the surrounding environment and institutional partners,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Eid al-Adha celebrations began with the Eid prayer held at the Ulul Albab Mosque (MUA) of UNNES. The prayer was led by K.H. Agus Romadhon, S.Pd.I., caretaker of the Durrotu Aswaja Islamic Boarding School, while the sermon (khutbah) was delivered by UNNES Vice Rector IV, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his sermon, Prof. Nur Qudus urged the congregation to make the qurbani ritual a momentum to strengthen sincerity and social solidarity within society. This message is in line with UNNES’s vision as a conservation-minded university that upholds the value of social compassion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
