The event, taking place at Lapangan Dumadi and in front of the Prof. Soegijono Lab Building, supports <strong>Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education)<\/strong> and <strong>11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)<\/strong> by preserving local culture through education and intergenerational engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival began with a warm welcome to guests, including UNNES leaders, government officials, partners from <strong>Indonesia Power<\/strong>, and excited elementary school students. The opening performance featured students from the <strong>Lab School Primary<\/strong> demonstrating traditional games such as <em>Dakon<\/em>, <em>Cublak-Cublak Suweng<\/em>, and <em>Bekel<\/em>, accompanied by live music from <em>Trah Segoro<\/em>, a group from UNNES\u2019s partner village, Ngesrepbalong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A highlight of the morning was a collaborative cultural performance by <strong>Svara Mahindrani<\/strong>, a talented young singer, and Lab School students, who presented the beloved folk songs \u201cCublak-Cublak Suweng\u201d and \u201cPadang Bulan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her opening remarks, <strong>Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti<\/strong>, Head of the UNNES Conservation Sub directorate, emphasized the educational value of traditional games in building character, local wisdom, and environmental awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival was officially opened by <strong>Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Si., Akt.<\/strong>, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, who spun a <strong>gangsing<\/strong> (traditional top) as a symbolic gesture. He then joined other leaders, international students, and members of the <strong>Dharma Wanita Persatuan<\/strong> in a lively <strong>bakiak<\/strong> (clog) race that brought cheers from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young children from <strong>PAUD Sekar Nagari<\/strong> also charmed the crowd with a delightful performance before the competitions began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten elementary schools participated in the competition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SDN Sadeng 03, SDN Polaman, SDN Ngaliyan 05, SDN Patemon 02, SDN Kalisegoro, SDN Ngijo 01, SDN Nongkosawit 01, SDN Sadeng 02, SDN Pesantren, SDN Pakintelan 02<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students took part in traditional games competitions, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bakiak<\/strong> (long clog race)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Egrang<\/strong> (stilt walking)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lari Balok<\/strong> (block relay)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ketapel<\/strong> (slingshot)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gobak Sodor<\/strong> (tag team game)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The atmosphere was festive and full of teamwork, laughter, and cultural pride. Beyond competition, the event emphasized the values of <strong>sportsperson ship, joy, and preserving traditional heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supported by <strong>PT.
