As part of the commemoration of Universitas Negeri Semarang\u2019s (UNNES) 60th Anniversary, the Faculty of Engineering (FT UNNES) held a conservation-themed activity by combining cycling and tree planting on Friday (5\/9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Led by the Dean of FT UNNES, Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., the activity involved lecturers and education staff cycling to the E10 area of FT UNNES, where they planted Parkia speciosa trees, commonly known as \u201cpetai.\u201d This effort reflects UNNES\u2019 strong commitment to conservation-oriented education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This activity is not only a celebration of our 60th anniversary, but also a real manifestation of the conservation spirit that FT UNNES continues to uphold,” said Prof. Wirawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative aligns with one of the university’s core visions: advancing education that is environmentally conscious and sustainable. It also supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15: Life on Land, which promotes the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, combats desertification, and halts biodiversity loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
