This assembly was special because all of the officials involved were women. The event served as a tangible symbol of Kartini’s enduring spirit—one that continues to synergize, inspire, and reflect UNNES’s commitment to promoting equality and women’s empowerment.

Serving as the assembly inspector, the Chair of the Institute for Educational and Professional Development (LPPP) UNNES, Prof. Dr. Rodiyah, S.Pd., S.H., M.Si., delivered a speech contextualizing Kartini’s spirit in today’s era. Prof. Rodiyah highlighted that as Indonesia moves towards “Indonesia Emas 2045,” the nation faces increasingly complex challenges. In this context, women play a strategic role in rapid technological development by contributing adaptive, innovative, and inclusive human resources.

Carrying the theme “Empowered Women Through Synergized Actions to Realize a Quality UNNES Toward Golden Indonesia,” Prof. Rodiyah emphasized that an empowered woman is not only resilient in facing challenges but is also capable of synergizing within a framework of devotion, morality, and Indonesian identity.

Furthermore, Prof. Rodiyah conveyed that the commemoration of Kartini Day is not merely an act of honoring Raden Ajeng Kartini as a heroine of women’s emancipation, but also a symbol of the continuous spirit that encourages Indonesian women to grow, develop, rise, and empower themselves.

“Kartini once wrote, ‘Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang.’ This simple sentence reflects hope and a vision for a brighter future, providing space for women to learn, create, and determine their life paths,” stated the professor from the Faculty of Law.

Kartini’s spirit is also reflected through cross-disciplinary and intergenerational collaborations—whether in classrooms, seminars, laboratories, or in research and community service activities. Women contribute with critical ideas, resist discrimination, strengthen solidarity and tolerance, and continue to create with their best efforts in service.

“Through UNNES as an internationally excellent conservation campus, let us encourage the full potential of women to be at the forefront—in education, research, and community engagement,” she urged.

Concluding her speech, Prof. Rodiyah once again echoed Kartini’s spirit, saying that no cloud in the sky remains forever. Hope, change, and resurgence are inevitable for those who dare to step forward and continue to dream. She invited all members of the UNNES academic community, especially women, to keep igniting Kartini’s spirit within themselves: to be empowered through knowledge, to synergize in their work, and to uphold the values of devotion and tolerance.

Source: https://unnes.ac.id/teladani-semangat-kartini-unnes-ajak-perempuan-bersinergi/

In commemoration of Kartini Day, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held a ceremonial assembly on Monday (April 21) in front of the UNNES Rectorate Building.
