Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) officially deployed 668 students from various faculties to participate in the 10th Gerakan Indonesia Mengabdi dan Tangguh (GIAT) program on Monday, November 25, 2024. The ceremonial event was led by the UNNES Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Zaenuri, S.E., M.Si., Akt., and attended by university leaders, deans, and heads of institutions within UNNES. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, GIAT participants will be placed across four regencies in Central Java\u2014Semarang, Klaten, Sukoharjo, and Karanganyar\u2014where they will engage directly with local communities to carry out a variety of service and development initiatives. Beyond the ceremonial aspect, the event also featured a symbolic handover of insurance coverage from Bimantoro Agency to all GIAT 10 participants. This coverage is intended to provide protection and peace of mind for students during their community service activities in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his remarks, Prof. Zaenuri delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of maintaining social harmony in the post-election period. He reminded students of their role as agents of change, encouraging them to stay focused on contributing meaningfully to rural development while avoiding political involvement that could disrupt unity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
