FMIPA UNNES, in collaboration with Kominfo and Difapedia, successfully held the Digital Literacy Workshop for Persons with Disabilities, themed “Empowering and Enabling Independence for Persons with Disabilities through Inclusive Digital Transformation.” The workshop took place on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 08:00 to 13:00 at the D12 Building, 3rd Floor, FMIPA Auditorium, Universitas Negeri Semarang.
Participants with and without disabilities attended the Digital Literacy Workshop for People with Disabilities. The event was moderated by All Fine Loretha, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Lecturer in the Non-formal Education Program at UNNES), featured three speakers: Abdurrahman Hamas Nahdly, Lalu Bintang Wahyu Putra, and Shindita Aprilia Nirmalasari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abdurrahman Hamas Nahdly presented “Safe and Wise in Digital Spaces.” He outlined four pillars necessary to uphold and develop in today’s digital era: competence, safety, culture, and ethics. He cited the 2022 Indonesian Digital Literacy Index score of 3.54.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This score is in the medium range. Additionally, the lowest sub-index score is in digital safety. Aside from digital safety, fake news and hoaxes\u2014especially with the upcoming elections\u2014are current concerns,” noted Abdurrahman on September 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second speaker, Lalu Bintang Wahyu Putra, presented on “Social Media as a Tool for Disability Advocacy.” He emphasized that people with disabilities should voice their rights and concerns to garner more attention, as content directly shared by them is far more impactful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Some content ideas for people with disabilities on social media could include hobbies, daily activities, or even reviews on accessibility for people with disabilities in public spaces,” Lalu Bintang shared on September 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the same session, Shindita Aprilia Nirmalasari provided insights into “E-commerce Digital Marketing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Nowadays, it’s advisable to sell through marketplaces, given the digital era. When selling, prioritize trust and don’t focus solely on profit,” advised Shindita on September 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further recommended that those starting a digital business should “just start.” If they don’t have a product, they can begin as a reseller or dropshipper, requiring no capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
