This device utilizes a sophisticated filtration and condensation process, producing water that is purified and ready for consumption. The process begins with air filtration, followed by condensation, where the collected water undergoes further treatment to meet drinking water standards.

According to Dr. Samsudin, the AWM concept was inspired by frequent droughts in various parts of Indonesia, particularly in southern Java and eastern regions, where access to clean drinking water is a constant challenge. “We hope this technology will offer a viable solution for areas struggling with clean water access, especially during droughts,” he stated.

Dr. Samsudin also aspires for AWM to become a pioneering innovation for Indonesia, as there is currently no similar device in the country. “Our goal is for this device to become a source of national pride. We have partnered with Polytron, and we hope this collaboration will pave the way for mass production of the AWM,” he added.

The AWM has two primary applications: first, in the healthcare sector, such as hospitals and medical industries, as the produced water is pure H2O, suitable for therapeutic and medical use. Second, it can be broadly utilized by the general public in households, offices, and public facilities.

Through this innovation, UNNES and Dr. Samsudin aim to address Indonesia’s clean water shortage while advancing local technology to meet the community’s drinking water needs.

source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amrCapr6ECg&ab_channel=UNNESTV

Dr. Samsudin Anis, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., has unveiled an innovative Atmospheric Water Maker (AWM) designed to convert air into safe drinking water.
