Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) commemorated “Mother’s Day” with female ceremonial officers from the Student Regiment (Menwa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rector Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman M.Hum served as the Inspector of the Ceremony, represented by the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. S. Martono. Attendees included the Vice Rectors, Deans, and educational staff, gathered on Monday (December 23, 2019) in the courtyard of the Sekaran Gunungpati Rectorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. S. Martono, while reading a speech from the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawanti, S.E., M.Si, emphasized that the essence of the commemoration of Mother’s Day (PHI) each year serves to remind all Indonesian citizens, especially the younger generation, of the significance of Mother’s Day as a moment of national awakening, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity, and recognizing the struggle of women, which is inseparable from the history of the Indonesian nation’s struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 91st PHI in 2019 marks the beginning of a movement for the \u201cacceleration\u201d of women’s empowerment across various development sectors and aims to provide protection for women in alignment with presidential directives. Thus, the main theme raised during this year’s PHI is \u201cEmpowered Women for a Progressive Indonesia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion of the 91st PHI, I invite all women to continue advancing, becoming independent, creative, innovative, confident figures, and to unite with men to form a significant force that ensures the realization of superior and competitive human resources for a progressive Indonesia.
