The Non-Formal Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) successfully held a Visiting Professor program with the theme “Adult and Lifelong Education to Enhancing Education for All.” The event, conducted in a hybrid format, took place at the Smart Class, Building A6 UNNES, and was also attended online by participants from various regions.
The program began at 08.30 AM, hosted by MC Huwaida Salsabila. The opening session featured the singing of Indonesia’s national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and the UNNES Hymn, followed by welcoming remarks from the Head of the Non-Formal Education Study Program, Dr. Mintarsih Arbarini, M.Pd. In her address, she emphasized the importance of international academic forums as a means to broaden students’ perspectives.
The main agenda was a lecture delivered by Assoc. Prof. Wirathep Pathumcharoenvattana, Ph.D from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He presented key concepts of adult and lifelong education as well as their implementation to improve the quality of education for all.
The lecture was followed by an interactive discussion session involving several participants. The enthusiasm of the attendees was evident through the active engagement of students who posed questions and exchanged ideas directly with the speaker.
Towards the end of the event, participants took a group photo with the speaker and lecturers. The program officially concluded at 10.00 AM in a warm and engaging atmosphere.
The smooth execution of this Visiting Professor program was supported by the committee team, who managed documentation, attendance, technical hybrid support, and logistics. Overall, the event made a significant contribution to enriching the international insights of UNNES academic communities, particularly students of the Non-Formal Education Study Program.
