Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has been entrusted as one of 25 Indonesian universities to manage the TIAS (Indonesian AID Scholarship) program starting in 2025. This appointment marks a significant step for UNNES in advancing national education quality while reinforcing its commitment to global collaboration
The TIAS Scholarship is a diplomacy scholarship program provided by the Government of Indonesia, with funds managed by LDKP or Indonesian AID. In its implementation, the Ministry of Higher Education (Kementerian Dikti) oversees the program. At the same time, 25 campuses across Indonesia serve as program organizers. The TIAS program is now in its second year; in 2024, it only involved 11 universities. UNNES’s inclusion in 2025 signifies the expansion of the program’s reach to more leading campuses nationwide.
A key objective of the TIAS program is to support national interests, particularly by encouraging the internationalization of Indonesian universities. The goal is for these campuses to gain greater recognition from the international community, ultimately contributing positively to advancing Indonesian education. Nationally, the available quota for the TIAS Scholarship 2025 is 176 students. UNNES hopes to secure a significant quota, targeting at least six international students to join through this scholarship in its first year.
In addition to promoting internationalization, the TIAS Scholarship aligns with UNNES’s conservation values. It supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this program contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This participation proves UNNES’s commitment to delivering high-quality education while strengthening global collaboration. UNNES is ready to realize its vision for sustainable education through the TIAS program.
