Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to enhance its student dormitory facilities as part of its ongoing effort to create an excellent, character-driven, and conservation-minded campus. Through the Badan Optimalisasi Aset dan Bisnis (BOAB/Asset and Business Optimization Agency), UNNES manages dormitories not only as housing facilities but also as centers for character development, independence, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the enhancement of students’ soft skills.
This initiative is reinforced by Rector’s Decree Number: B/3677/UN37/HK.02/2024 on the Designation of Student Dormitory Utilization at Universitas Negeri Semarang, which provides the legal foundation for managing and optimizing the dormitories’ function as a means of student development and empowerment.
UNNES currently operates five dormitory units: Asrama 1 Putri Kalisegoro, Asrama 2 PGSD Ngaliyan, Asrama 3 Putra Sekaran, Asrama 4 Internasional, and Asrama 5 Putri Patemon. These facilities accommodate students from various academic levels—Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral—who require comfortable and affordable housing near the campus.
Beyond providing reliable utilities, a conducive environment, and 24-hour security, the dormitory management also implements development programs focused on character building and student achievement. These programs include leadership training, conservation-oriented behavior practices, and social and entrepreneurial activities that cultivate responsibility and self-reliance among residents.
“The UNNES Student Dormitory serves as a rental housing complex designed to meet students’ accommodation needs while enabling them to pursue academic excellence and build noble character,” stated the official BOAB UNNES website.
Dormitory registration is conducted online through the university’s official portal, which provides detailed information regarding requirements, fees, and residency regulations. The presence of these facilities is expected to foster a harmonious, inclusive learning environment that supports UNNES’s vision as a Conservation University with an International Outlook.
