Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues its strong commitment to the internationalization of education through the 2025 Lantip Internasional program. A total of 32 education students from various study programs will be sent to complete teaching practicums in four partner countries: Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
The Lantip Internasional program aims to broaden students’ academic networks on a global scale. Through this initiative, participants gain not only cross-cultural teaching experience but also improve their English proficiency and earn recognizable academic credit (SKS) within their curriculum.
This program is scheduled for the seventh semester and involves students from education-oriented majors. The selection process, led by the UNNES Teaching Practice Center (Pusat PPL LPPP), took place from April 30 to May 21, 2025, followed by interviews on May 21–22, with the final selection results announced on June 11, 2025. Prior to departure, students will undergo an intensive pre-departure training from June 17–23, 2025. Departures are arranged in stages based on the destination country.
Eight students will complete their teaching practicums in Australia, specifically at Braemar School and Trinity Christian School. Thirteen students will go to Malaysia, teaching at SMK Sungai Rambai and SMA IRSHADIAH. Another six students will head to Thailand to teach at Walailak University, while five students will teach at Philippine Normal University in the Philippines.
One Lantip International program alumnus from FISIP, Huda, who previously taught in Thailand, shared that the experience opened doors to pursue his dream of studying and working abroad.
“Dare to dream big, and seize every opportunity, because chances like these don’t always come twice,” he remarked.
The students bound for Australia and the Philippines are scheduled to depart on July 20, 2025, followed by departures to Malaysia on August 1, 2025, and to Thailand in mid-November 2025. Through the 2025 Lantip Internasional program, UNNES aims to cultivate globally minded graduates who are prepared to tackle future challenges in education.
