December 9, 2025 — Students from the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University (FH UNNES) once again demonstrated their commitment to strengthening a culture of integrity by delivering scientific speeches in commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day. This event served as an important forum for FH UNNES students to voice critical ideas related to the eradication of corruption as a common enemy of the nation. In this forum, students emphasized that corruption is not only a criminal act, but also a betrayal of the constitutional mandate, as stated in the speech “Corruption as Betrayal.” Students reminded the audience that Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution mandates that natural resources be used for the greatest prosperity of the people, but corruption actually deprives them of this right. Another speech, “Corruption: A Silent Tsunami that Destroys Dreams,” described corruption as a silent disaster that destroys people’s hopes, weakens public services, and damages the moral foundation of the nation across generations.
The students also emphasized the role of universities and the younger generation as agents of change, calling for resistance to gratification, nepotism, and abuse of power in any form, no matter how small. Through moral courage, UNNES Faculty of Law students want to become an early warning system for the nation—in line with the values of FH Menggema (excellence in scientific movement), Lulusan Digdaya (integrity and competence), and Hukum Berdaulat (upholding justice and public interest).
This World Anti-Corruption Day commemoration is in line with UNNES’ commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, particularly in building clean, transparent, and ethical legal education institutions. In addition to SDG 16, this activity also supports SDG 4: Quality Education, as it provides anti-corruption character education oriented towards shaping an ethical generation.
This speech further emphasizes the academic stance of FH UNNES towards eradicating corruption. In line with the official statement of the FH UNNES family, the faculty strongly condemns all forms of corruption, collusion, and nepotism, and fully supports law enforcement efforts without discrimination. This momentum is expected to strengthen the culture of integrity on campus and in society. With an echoing spirit of anti-corruption, powerful student character, and a commitment to realizing sovereign law, FH UNNES is determined to produce a generation capable of fighting for a clean, fair, and dignified Indonesia.
