The History Education Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), in collaboration with Lakeisha Publishing and Ruangguru, successfully organized the 2025 National Seminar and Call for Papers on Historical Education and Literacy. The event carried the theme “Cultural Heritage, Historical Literacy, and Strengthening Indonesian Identity”, emphasizing the significance of historical awareness and cultural preservation in the context of global dynamics.
Held on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, at the 3rd Floor Auditorium of Building C7, FISIP UNNES, the seminar featured distinguished speakers from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including:
- Dr. Tsabit Azinar Ahmad, S.Pd., M.Pd., Lecturer, History Education Department, FISIP UNNES
- Andriyanto, S.S., M.Pd., Lecturer at Univet Bantara and Founder of Lakeisha Publishing
- Fakhri Abdullah Rosyid, Talent Acquisition Lead, Ruangguru
In an engaging and interactive discussion, the speakers underscored the importance of preserving cultural heritage and enhancing historical literacy as integral elements of national character development. The seminar also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which advocates for inclusive, equitable education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. Historical literacy plays a vital role in achieving quality education by nurturing critical, tolerant, and nationally conscious individuals.
Following the main session, which took place from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB, the event continued with parallel sessions from 13.00 to 15.00 WIB, held across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of Building C2, FISIP UNNES. These sessions provided a platform for young researchers, lecturers, and students from various institutions to present their scholarly works addressing issues of history, culture, and national identity within educational contexts.
Beyond serving as a forum for intellectual exchange and innovation, the seminar fostered cross-sector collaboration among academics, publishers, and education practitioners to strengthen an adaptive historical education system in response to contemporary challenges.
Through this seminar, UNNES reaffirms its commitment to promoting cultural preservation, reinforcing national identity, and advancing quality education, particularly among Indonesia’s younger generation.
