The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has officially established an international collaboration with the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The collaboration was marked by a series of activities held from May 21 to 23, 2025, including a Guest Lecture delivered by Dr.Ing. Dhidik Prastiyanto, S.T., M.T., focusing on the advanced topic of Adaptive Cruise Control for Autonomous Vehicles. The lecture explored intelligent control algorithms for driverless vehicles and attracted significant interest among students.
The partnership also featured international service activities conducted at Setiabudi Middle School, Malaysia, involving several teams from FT UNNES:
- Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., and team presented Electric Vehicle Technology Education through Tamiya Games to enhance science literacy.
- Dr.Ing. Dhidik Prastiyanto, S.T., M.T., and team focused on strengthening digital literacy and promoting the positive use of the internet for digitally intelligent generations.
- Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Pd., and team developed audiovisual learning media based on generative artificial intelligence.
- Rusiyanto, S.Pd., M.T., and team introduced innovative science learning methods through welding experiments.
- Dr. Harianingsih, S.T., M.T., and team improved ecoprint skills utilizing the pounding technique.
This collaboration embodies UNNES’s commitment to building global networks and contributing meaningfully to society through the integration of science, technology, and ethical values. It further supports UNNES’s vision of becoming a world-reputed university and a pioneer of educational excellence.
Moreover, these activities align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships to Achieve the Goals. Through international cooperation and quality education initiatives, UNNES actively participates in global education networks and partnerships to advance sustainable development.
