Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has institutionalized environmentally responsible procurement through Rector’s Regulation No. 79 of 2024 on Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods and Services. This regulation ensures that sustainability, transparency, and ethical governance extend to all outsourced suppliers, including those providing equipment, stationery, and building contracts.
The regulation outlines that all procurement activities within UNNES must follow the principles of efficiency, accountability, fairness, and environmental responsibility. Every supplier and contractor is required to meet competency, legality, integrity, and sustainability standards, ensuring that all goods and services contribute to the university’s conservation mission.
The regulation’s Articles 5, 16, and 59 emphasize that procurement must be economical, effective, and environmentally friendly, and that vendors are responsible for complying with all applicable regulations and environmental ethics. Violations, including the delivery of non-compliant products or unsustainable practices, may result in administrative sanctions or contract termination.
Additionally, the policy requires environmental feasibility verification in the selection process, especially for construction, laboratory, and equipment procurement projects. These processes are overseen by the Procurement and Asset Management Unit, ensuring that every purchase—from office supplies to infrastructure—aligns with the university’s sustainability standards.
By embedding environmental responsibility into every stage of procurement, UNNES guarantees that its sustainability policies extend fully to outsourced suppliers and construction partners, reinforcing its vision as Indonesia’s leading Conservation University committed to ethical and sustainable development.
