Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence and service innovation through the establishment of a Night Service Team for the Rumah Ilmu Library, as stipulated in Rector’s Decree No. T/112/UN37/HK.02/2025. This strategic initiative aims to improve accessibility and service quality for students, lecturers, and researchers who require extended library hours to support their academic activities.
The decree was issued in response to the growing demand for extended library services, ensuring that Rumah Ilmu—UNNES’s central academic library—remains a vibrant hub of learning beyond regular operational hours. The team, composed of designated university staff, is tasked with managing evening operations from 16:00 to 20:00 WIB (Monday to Thursday) and 14:30 to 20:00 WIB (Friday). The library will remain closed on national holidays and official leave days in accordance with university regulations.
In accordance with the decree, all operational expenses related to the Night Service Team will be financed through the university’s DPA (Budget Implementation Document) under prevailing financial management policies. The regulation also mandates ongoing evaluation to ensure service effectiveness and alignment with UNNES’s institutional mission.
This policy reflects UNNES’s broader vision as a Conservation and Service-Oriented University, emphasizing inclusive academic support and the creation of a sustainable, student-centered learning environment. By extending library hours through structured management, UNNES not only enhances access to academic resources but also demonstrates its responsiveness to the evolving needs of its academic community.
Through this initiative, the Rumah Ilmu Library is positioned as a dynamic and inclusive knowledge center, facilitating research, collaboration, and intellectual development in line with UNNES’s commitment to educational quality and innovation.
