Amidst the cheers of the audience and the tension of each move being competed, there is a story of dedication that is not widely known to the public. She is Prof. Dr. Heny Setyawati, M.Si., Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Sports Science at the Faculty of Sports Science, UNNES, who was entrusted with a crucial role in the organizing committee of the 2nd 2025 National Martial Arts Games, particularly in the wushu event held in Kudus at the end of October last year.
As an academic with extensive experience in the field of sports, Prof. Heny is not only present as a guide but also as a driving force. Her dedication and meticulousness form the foundation for ensuring that every aspect of the competition runs smoothly.
Her strategic role led many to believe that Prof. Heny’s presence was not merely a formality, but a tangible manifestation of an educator’s dedication to the nation. For her, PON is not just about competition, but a great opportunity to instill a spirit of sportsmanship, character, and unity.
Behind the success of this event lies strong collaboration. In addition to Prof. Heny, several FIK lecturers and educational staff were also actively involved as committee members, demonstrating their shared commitment to perfecting the 2025 PON Beladiri. Their presence proves that the campus and the world of sports can work together to build national achievements.
The dedication of Prof. Dr. Heny Setyawati, M.Si., along with other FIK lecturers, has been one of the key factors behind the smooth running of the wushu competitions at the 2025 PON Martial Arts Games. Behind the bustling arena, there is the commitment, dedication, and hard work of educators who wholeheartedly help build Indonesia’s sports achievements.
The role of FIK lecturers in this activity is in line with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their involvement in organizing PON Beladiri supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through health promotion, increased physical activity, and the development of a safe sports ecosystem. In addition, the contribution of academics in practical applications at the national level demonstrates support for SDG 4 (Quality Education), particularly in the application of sports science, the instilling of sportsmanship values, and exemplary character education. This activity also reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-institutional collaboration between universities, national committees, and sports communities in succeeding the major national agenda.
