Efforts to build a strong foundation for sports achievement from an early age continue to be strengthened, one of which is through the 2025 Central Java Junior Archery Championship (Kejurprov) successfully held in Tegal City, Central Java, from 6 to 10 October 2025.

Behind the success of this championship stands Martin Sudarmono, S.Pd., M.Pd., a lecturer from the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Study Program (PJKR), Faculty of Sports Science (FIK), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). In addition to his role as an educator, Mr. Martin is also actively engaged in the sports community as the Chairperson of the 2025 Junior Archery Championship Committee. He serves as a key liaison in fostering collaboration between FIK UNNES and the Central Java Provincial Board of the Indonesian Archery Association (PERPANI).

“This championship is not merely a competition, but part of our continuous effort to build synergy between education and sports in order to nurture high-quality young athletes,” Martin stated.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, reflected through the strategic collaboration between FIK UNNES and PERPANI Central Java in supporting sustainable sports development;
  • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, as sports events like this archery championship promote healthy lifestyles and physical well-being among the younger generation; and
  • SDG 4 – Quality Education, through the involvement of lecturers in integrating education with athletic development to improve the quality of physical education and character building.

The 2025 Central Java Junior Archery Championship is expected to serve as a tangible example of how lecturers and educational institutions contribute to regional sports development while becoming a platform for the emergence of Indonesia’s future archery talents.
