Innovation continues to flourish at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). This time, a group of students has successfully developed LUMA, a digital program designed to help individuals—particularly young people—manage their time, set goals, and cultivate positive habits consistently.

LUMA was developed by four students: Arya Rachman Hakim (Mathematics, 2022), Faizatul Alfath (Mathematics, 2022), Dian Nissa Zahria (Mathematics Education, 2022), and Endra Arifudin Fawaz (Mathematics Education, 2024), under the supervision of Mr. Adi Satrio Ardiansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd. The program emerged as a reflection of FMIPA students’ concern over the growing need for effective time management in the digital era. Through its features such as Goal Tracker, Habits Planner, To-Do List, and Visual Dashboard, users can easily monitor their progress and maintain daily productivity.
One of the team members explained that the idea for LUMA began from a simple habit of recording daily activities.
“We realized that many people struggle to maintain positive routines. From there, we wanted to create a practical and engaging technology-based solution,” they said.
Beyond its technological function, LUMA embodies the conservation values promoted by UNNES, emphasizing the balance between technological advancement and human self-development. The product encourages both students and the broader public to be more mindful and intentional in planning their lives productively and sustainably.
Looking ahead, the development team plans to expand LUMA’s capabilities by adding automated integration features, such as daily streak tracking and notification systems. They also aim to explore commercial opportunities by launching an affordable digital version of the product with special promotions for students. This initiative not only supports users’ access to productivity tools but also allows the team to gain valuable experience in digital entrepreneurship.
Through LUMA, UNNES FMIPA students once again demonstrate their role as young innovators and change agents, ready to face future challenges with creative ideas and impactful contributions to society.
