Fitness is a right for everyone, including the residents of Lempuyang Village in Demak Regency. Based on this, the PPK ORMAWA HIMA PJKR and DPM FIK UNNES Team encourage awareness of the importance of health and fitness in Lempuyang Village through the “Lempuyang Village Run 10K & 5K” event held on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

The Lempuyang Village Run is not just an ordinary running event. It’s a platform that brings us together, promoting an active lifestyle, health, and a strong sense of community. This inaugural running event in Lempuyang Village, Demak Regency, successfully united hundreds of participants from Demak and its surrounding areas.

In addition to improving the health and quality of life of the residents of Lempuyang village by showcasing the exotic scenery of Lempuyang village and several other towns along the route for the runners, this running event also serves as a platform to seek achievements and identify potential running athletes in Demak Regency.

In collaboration with the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) of Demak Regency, the event has two categories: 10K for men and 5K for women. Each category awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and consolation prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runners-up, with a total prize value of 4.2 million rupiah and door prizes from sponsors.

The activity was officially opened by the representative of the Demak Regent, Kadinpora, starting at 05:45 AM for the 10K men’s category, and by Mrs. Sri Wahyuningsih, S.H., M.Kn., the General Chairperson of PASI Demak Regency, starting at 06:00 AM for the 5K women’s category.

The second position was held by the runner named Neti from Demak, with a time of 23 minutes and 25 seconds, while the third position was held by the runner named Natasha, also from Demak, with a time of 23 minutes and 57 seconds.

The success of the 2023 Lempuyang Village Run 10K & 5K event would not have been possible without the collaboration between the Student Executive Board (PPK) of the Faculty of Sports Science (ORMAWA HIMA PJKR DPM FIK UNNES) as the event initiator, along with the Lempuyang Village Government, Demak Regency, and the sponsors. The Lempuyang Village Government is committed to organizing other events to make Lempuyang Village a self-sufficient sports village.

The first Lempuyang Run Village 10K & 5K in Demak Regency exemplifies how sports and quality living can come together, creating a healthy, happy, and thriving community.
