After the COVID-19 pandemic period, when the Unnes academic community resumed activities, transportation mobility has returned to normal. Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has begun implementing an environmentally friendly Green Transportation System.
UNNES, which embraces conservation as part of its vision and mission towards campus internationalization, is now implementing Green Transportation on campus.
This includes an electric-powered shuttle fleet, which has started operating within the Unnes campus environment with five shuttles and will increase as needed.
The electric shuttles are available for all UNNES academic community members from Monday to Friday, from 06:00 to 17:00.
The route taken by the electric shuttle starts from the Main Gate of Garuda, then stops at the Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M) Drop Off, Kampung Budaya Drop Off, Faculty of Language and Literature (FBS) Drop Off, Multipurpose Building (GSG) Stop, Faculty of Education (FIP) Stop, Mini Gas Station Stop, Faculty of Sports Science (FIK 1 and 2) Stop.
It then continues to the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Drop Off, Faculty of Law (FH) Stop, Faculty of Social Sciences (FIS) Stop, Faculty of Economics (FE) Drop Off, Entrepreneurship Building (KWU) Stop, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Stop, Rektorat Mosque (Musrek) Drop Off, Student Activity Center (PKM) Drop Off and Stop, Professional Education Development Institute (LP3) Drop Off, and finally returns to the Main Gate of Garuda.
With the provision of the Electric Shuttle fleet, both UNNES academic community members and guests who use 2-wheeled or 4-wheeled vehicles can park their vehicles in the designated parking areas, assisted by signage, security guards, and parking attendants. They can then use the shuttle service by waiting at the designated drop-off points or stops.
In the future, additional environmentally friendly facilities such as electric shuttles and other supporting amenities will be added to create an eco-friendly transportation system at UNNES. It is hoped that all academic community members will support the Green Transportation program and contribute to its proper maintenance.
