The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Semarang State University (IKA FISIP Universitas Negeri Semarang) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting educational sustainability by distributing Education Care Fund Scholarships to FISIP UNNES students. This event was held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, in Meeting Room 202 of Building C8 FISIP UNNES, and was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans I and II, Chair of IKA FISIP UNNES, and Program Coordinators within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNNES.
During the event, the scholarships were symbolically handed over to three student representatives, each receiving assistance amounting to IDR 1,000,000. The three students were Katarina Widhia Kusuma (History Education), Rafli Fitra Kurnain (Political Science), and Muhammad Ali Gaddafi (Sociology and Anthropology Education). In total, 15 students from various study programs at FISIP UNNES were selected as recipients of the 2026 IKA FISIP UNNES Education Care Fund Scholarship.

The Dean of FISIP UNNES, Arif Purnomo, in his testimony expressed his appreciation for the concern and consistency of alumni in supporting students. He emphasized that this program not only helps ease the economic burden on students, but also strengthens access to inclusive and equitable education. “This Education Care Fund Scholarship is in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty, by ensuring that students from various economic backgrounds continue to have equal opportunities to complete their studies and improve their quality of life,” he said.
In line with this, the Chair of the UNNES FISIP Alumni Association, Kusno, emphasized that this scholarship program is a tangible manifestation of the alumni’s solidarity and social responsibility towards their alma mater. According to him, poverty alleviation is not only carried out through short-term economic assistance, but also through sustainable investment in education. “We hope that this assistance can encourage students to continue to excel and contribute to society in the future, so that the cycle of poverty can be broken through education,” he said.
Through the distribution of the Education Care Fund Scholarship, IKA FISIP UNNES together with FISIP UNNES emphasized the strategic role of higher education in supporting the sustainable development agenda. This activity is tangible evidence of the collaboration between alumni and the faculty in realizing SDG Goal 1 No Poverty, while also strengthening FISIP UNNES’ commitment to producing graduates who are excellent, competitive, and socially conscious.
