The government continues to make efforts to improve quality education in Indonesia through various programs to strengthen literacy, numeracy, and the use of learning technology. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) launched a program to improve the quality of learning in a number of primary and secondary schools on Tuesday (11/11).

This program targets teachers and students with the aim of creating an active, inclusive learning process that is relevant to the times. Teacher training, the provision of digital teaching materials, and school assistance are part of the efforts to improve the quality of learning in the classroom.

Director General of Primary Education, Andi Prasetyo, said that quality education does not only focus on academic achievement, but also on character building, creativity, and critical thinking skills of students. “Quality education is education that is able to develop children’s potential comprehensively so that they are ready to face future challenges,” he said.

This activity is carried out in several regions, including schools in 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) areas, as a form of equal access to education. The government also collaborates with parents and the community to create a supportive learning environment at school and at home.

Through this program, it is hoped that the quality of national education will improve, educational disparities between regions will be minimized, and Indonesia’s young generation will grow into a superior, competitive, and characterful human resource.
