The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FT UNNES) has initiated an international collaboration with the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) through a series of academic and community engagement activities held from May 21–23, 2025.
One of the highlights of the collaboration was a Guest Lecture by Dr.-Ing. Dhidik Prastiyanto, S.T., M.T., who presented the latest insights on Adaptive Cruise Control for Autonomous Vehicles. The lecture explored intelligent control algorithms for self-driving cars and was met with great enthusiasm from students eager to learn about the forefront of transportation technology.
In addition, a series of International Community Service Activities were conducted at Setiabudi Middle School, Malaysia, featuring interdisciplinary efforts from FT UNNES lecturers and teams, including:
- Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T. and team: Electric Vehicle Technology Education Through Tamiya Games to Enhance Science Literacy
- Dr.-Ing. Dhidik Prastiyanto, S.T., M.T. and team: Strengthening Digital Literacy and Promoting Positive Internet Use for a Digitally Intelligent Generation
- Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Pd. and team: Development of Audio-Visual Learning Media Using Generative Artificial Intelligence
- Rusiyanto, S.Pd., M.T. and team: Innovation in Science Learning Through Welding Experimentation
- Dr. Harianingsih, S.T., M.T. and team: Improving Ecoprint Skills Using the Pounding Technique
These collaborative efforts highlight UNNES’s commitment to advancing global engagement and societal contribution through science, technology, and ethics. The program also reinforces UNNES’s position as a university with a strong international reputation and a pioneer in educational excellence.
This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, aligning directly with the vision of Universitas Negeri Semarang: “To Become a World-class Reputable University, Pioneer of Excellence in Education with Conservation Perspective.” Through these activities, UNNES continues to expand its role in global education and strategic partnerships.
