On Sunday, September 14, 2025, KAMIL Humanity of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), conducted a health education and donation event at the Al Qodri Orphanage, Semarang, as a manifestation of compassion and the spirit of sharing.
Semarang – A warm and joyful atmosphere filled the Al Qodri Orphanage in Semarang on Sunday (September 14, 2025), as KAMIL Humanity—a community service program under the Department of Public Service, Muslim Student Family (KAMIL), Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES)—brought forward its mission of care, education, and generosity. Through health education sessions, donation activities, and engaging interactions with children through games, the event became a valuable moment to strengthen solidarity and spread hope.
The social activity was conducted with enthusiasm and joy, built upon the genuine interaction between KAMIL volunteers and the children. From the beginning of the program, the children’s excitement and eagerness were evident as they actively participated in each agenda prepared by the committee.
The main session began with a health education activity on proper handwashing techniques, delivered interactively to ensure children were not only listening but also practicing and sharing their own experiences. The education was made more engaging through storytelling and hand puppets, allowing the children to remain attentive and entertained.
Beyond the educational session, the committee also organized a series of fun and educational games. One such activity involved creating routes in a maze drawing to reach a “clean place.” This simple yet meaningful game trained the children’s focus and accuracy while embedding moral lessons on hygiene and the importance of maintaining a healthy environment.
The event continued with a creative session, in which the children made their own handmade keychains—simple but meaningful creations symbolizing self-expression and creativity. This activity brought laughter and smiles to the room, strengthening emotional bonds between the children and the volunteers in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
To conclude the event, KAMIL Humanity FK UNNES presented donations consisting of cash, basic food supplies, and decent clothing, including shirts, trousers, and hijabs. These donations were expected to help meet daily needs and alleviate some of the burdens faced by the children and caretakers of the orphanage.
Through this activity, KAMIL Humanity FK UNNES conveyed that social concern is not merely about giving material aid but also about fostering emotional connection and providing meaningful education. The children of Al Qodri Orphanage were expected to gain not only knowledge about health but also affection, motivation, and renewed hope to pursue their dreams.
KAMIL FK UNNES expressed its commitment to continuing similar programs as a form of consistent community service. Moreover, the organization aims to strengthen synergy among students, communities, and social institutions to build an environment rooted in empathy, kindness, and shared optimism for a brighter future.
“We want the children here to feel that they are not alone — that many people care, support, and pray for them to achieve their best future,” said a representative of KAMIL Humanity FK UNNES.
“We hope this activity serves as a small step with a big impact — not only for the children of Al Qodri Orphanage but also for the students, who learn the true meaning of empathy and humanity,” they added.
With the spirit of compassion and solidarity, KAMIL FK UNNES remains committed to delivering real benefits, spreading smiles, and nurturing hope for a brighter and more humane future.
