Semarang, October 2025 — Earlier this year, on April 14, 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Semarang State University (UNNES) held a benchmarking and guest lecture program featuring international speaker Asst. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Nugultham, Head of the Science Education Ph.D. Program from the Faculty of Education and Development Sciences, Kasetsart University, Thailand.
The event was attended by the Dean of FMIPA UNNES, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc., along with vice deans, lecturers, and students. The activity aimed to enhance the quality of science education through knowledge exchange and international collaboration—an initiative that directly aligns with the goals of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
During the session, Dr. Kulthida Nugultham shared valuable insights into curriculum innovation, transformative learning strategies, and research development in science education. Her presentation emphasized how collaboration and cross-cultural perspectives can inspire creativity and inclusivity in teaching and learning processes.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Sc. highlighted the importance of global academic cooperation in strengthening the institutional reputation and research ecosystem of FMIPA UNNES.
“This activity is a strategic step to expand our academic network and elevate the quality of education and research. We hope the collaboration with Kasetsart University will generate innovative breakthroughs in science learning and collaborative research,” said Prof. Edy.
He further encouraged all lecturers and students, particularly those in postgraduate programs, to actively engage in international research, publication, and academic exchange. “FMIPA UNNES must continue to advance toward becoming a world-class university that contributes to the global education agenda,” he added.
The benchmarking session also explored opportunities for joint research, student and faculty exchanges, and curriculum collaboration between UNNES and Kasetsart University. The program concluded with an engaging interactive discussion that fostered new ideas for sustainable partnerships in education.
