Banjarnegara, 8 November 2025 – In collaboration with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Banjarnegara and the Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Disdikpora) of Banjarnegara Regency, the Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FIK UNNES), organised a Workshop on Deep Learning in Physical Education and Sports Nutrition Based on Local Wisdom at SMP N 1 Banjarnegara.
The workshop aimed to enhance the competence of sports coaches and physical education teachers in implementing effective teaching and training strategies, while also introducing the concept of sports nutrition tailored to the local potential and wisdom of Banjarnegara.
The event was attended by more than one hundred participants, consisting of PE teachers, coaches, and sports enthusiasts from various schools and sports branches across Banjarnegara. Participants received materials from UNNES academics experienced in sports teaching methodology, athlete nutrition, and the application of simple technology in physical training.
In his remarks, Vice Dean for Business, Research, and Collaboration of FIK UNNES, Dr Sri Haryono, M.Or., stated that this activity is a concrete manifestation of the university’s community service mission.
“We are committed to supporting the improvement of human resources in regional sports. Through a local wisdom-based approach, coaches and teachers can develop contextual and impactful teaching methods,” he said.
Chairman of KONI Banjarnegara, Mr. Nurohman Ahong, expressed his appreciation for FIK UNNES’s initiative in synergising with KONI and Disdikpora to strengthen the capacity of local coaches.
“Collaboration like this is very important to improve the quality of sports coaching in Banjarnegara so that coaches and teachers are equipped with knowledge that is relevant to current developments,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Head of Disdikpora Banjarnegara, Mr. Teguh Handoko, S.Sos., added that the workshop is expected to bring positive impact on improving students’ sports achievements.
“With a better understanding of sports learning and nutrition, teachers can support students to become healthier, more active, and more accomplished,” he said.
Through this workshop, FIK UNNES, together with KONI and Disdikpora Banjarnegara, reaffirmed their commitment to continuing sustainable collaboration in building a more advanced, independent, and competitive regional sports ecosystem, while upholding local values as a key strength. This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by promoting health and fitness through physical education, strengthening the professional competence of teachers and coaches, and fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships in support of sustainable development in the sports sector.
