Semarang, November 19, 2025 – The Faculty of Law, Semarang State University (FH UNNES) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights regarding the establishment of 8,563 Village Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) throughout Central Java. This monumental initiative is a concrete step by FH UNNES in expanding access to justice for grassroots communities while strengthening the role of higher education institutions in national legal development.
The establishment of Village Legal Aid Posts is a joint commitment to ensure that rural communities can obtain easy, affordable, and quality legal aid services. The presence of Posbankum at the village level emphasizes the importance of an inclusive and empowerment-based legal service system, especially for vulnerable groups.
This step is in line with the achievement of SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through expanding access to justice and strengthening legal institutions that are clean, responsive, and pro-community. In addition, this collaboration also supports SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, as the existence of Posbankum Desa helps reduce the gap in access to legal services between rural and urban communities.
This strategic partnership reflects the spirit of FHMenggema, which is FH UNNES’s efforts to expand its academic and social influence nationally through programs that have a direct impact on society. This initiative also serves as a vehicle for creating Digdaya Graduates, who are competent, have integrity, and are ready to take on the challenges of the legal profession amid the growing need for legal aid services.
Furthermore, the establishment of thousands of Village Legal Aid Posts is proof that FH UNNES continues to strengthen its identity as a faculty that upholds Sovereign Law, namely law that favors the protection of community rights, the strengthening of institutions, and the development of a just legal civilization.
The UNNES Faculty of Law is committed to continuing its collaboration with various stakeholders to create an impactful campus and realize an inclusive, just, and sustainable national legal system.
