Semarang, 19 November 2025 – The Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FH UNNES), has officially signed a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to establish 8,563 Village Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) throughout Central Java. This monumental initiative marks a concrete step by FH UNNES in expanding access to justice for grassroots communities while strengthening the role of higher education institutions in national legal development.
The establishment of Village Legal Aid Posts reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that rural communities have access to legal aid services that are accessible, affordable, and of high quality. The presence of Posbankum at the village level underscores the importance of an inclusive and empowerment-based legal service system, especially for vulnerable groups.
This initiative strongly aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by expanding access to justice and reinforcing clean, responsive, and community-oriented legal institutions. It also supports SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, as the Village Legal Aid Posts help reduce disparities in access to legal services between rural and urban populations.
The strategic collaboration embodies the spirit of FHMenggema, showcasing the national-level academic and social influence of FH UNNES through impactful programs that directly benefit communities. It also serves as a platform for shaping Lulusan Digdaya, graduates who are competent, ethical, and ready to face the growing demands of the legal profession in the context of increasing needs for legal aid services.
Furthermore, the establishment of thousands of Village Legal Aid Posts reaffirms FH UNNES’s identity as a faculty that upholds the principle of Hukum Berdaulat, a legal system that protects citizens’ rights, strengthens institutions, and fosters a just legal civilization.
FH UNNES remains committed to strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders to build an impactful campus and contribute to the realization of an inclusive, just, and sustainable national legal system.
