Semarang, 19 November 2025 – In celebration of its 18th Anniversary, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FH UNNES), organized a National Seminar titled “Problematics and Dynamics of Consumer Disputes and Their Alternative Resolutions.” This event served as a strategic academic forum for scholars, practitioners, and stakeholders to explore current issues related to consumer protection in Indonesia.

The seminar discussed various crucial matters surrounding consumer disputes, including the rise of cases involving digital services, challenges in regulatory enforcement, and the effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms. These discussions aimed to deepen participants’ understanding while promoting the development of constructive recommendations to strengthen the national consumer protection system.

This activity directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by enhancing access to justice, improving public legal literacy, and fostering responsive and integrity-driven institutions in handling consumer disputes. It also aligns with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, as it addresses sustainable business practices and the protection of consumer rights as part of a healthy and fair trade ecosystem.

The seminar also reflects the commitment of FH UNNES to embody the values of FHMenggema, by providing an academic forum that strengthens the faculty’s scholarly reputation; Lulusan Digdaya, by equipping students with updated knowledge to become adaptive and competent jurists; and Hukum Berdaulat, which demonstrates the faculty’s contribution to sustainably strengthening the national legal system.

Through this national seminar, FH UNNES reaffirms its role as an impactful institution that continues to make meaningful contributions to the development of legal scholarship, consumer protection, and the advancement of a more inclusive, just, and sustainable legal institution.
