As a conservation university with a strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continuously strives to enhance the welfare and productivity of its academic and non-academic staff. The welfare of university employees is considered a key instrument in improving institutional performance and supporting quality education.
Universities play a vital role in producing qualified graduates who will later contribute to national development. To achieve this, the productivity and quality of lecturers and staff are crucial. Recognizing this, UNNES implements various income and remuneration schemes designed to strengthen the motivation and performance of its personnel.
The university’s salary structure adheres to national regulations, including Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus (ASN Law) and Government Regulation Number 5 of 2024, ensuring parity with other government institutions.
Beyond the basic salary system, UNNES has introduced a specific regulation to further improve employee welfare — Rector’s Regulation Number 37 of 2023 concerning the Remuneration System of Universitas Negeri Semarang. This policy provides an additional income component in the form of allowances and rewards based on employee performance and achievements.
Through this remuneration system, UNNES ensures fair compensation and encourages productivity among its employees. As a result, the university not only rewards dedication and excellence but also reinforces its long-term commitment to improving the quality of education and institutional governance.
The implementation of this remuneration policy reflects UNNES’ alignment with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, emphasizing inclusive economic opportunities and the well-being of all employees as essential foundations for sustainable development.
