The Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Universitas Negeri Semarang (DWP UNNES) organized a seminar titled “The Role of Women in Building an Intelligent Generation for Realizing Golden Indonesia”, a concept that envisions a prosperous and progressive Indonesia, on Wednesday, March 23, conducted in a hybrid format at the UNNES Rectorate Building.

This seminar, held via the Zoom platform, aimed to facilitate discussions and serve as a medium for constructive exchange of ideas among various parties to understand the portrait of women in Indonesia fully. The seminar encouraged participants to comprehend the challenges and opportunities that can be developed to ensure that women can continue to contribute actively and tangibly to establishing an intelligent generation and realizing Golden Indonesia.

UNNES Rector, Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum, praised the organization of the seminar as part of efforts to empower women intellectually.

“As a part of UNNES, DWP UNNES has been a pioneer in promoting intelligent and resilient women, advocating for increased participation in various sectors and areas of life,” stated the Professor of Sociolinguistics.

The seminar featured speakers including Dr. Ir. Arianti Ina Restiani Hunga, M.Si., a lecturer at Satya Wacana Christian University with a focus on women’s studies, and Esti Widsyandari, Psi., SH, CHt, CEC, the Director and Owner of PT. Deta Sukses Makmur, a company known for its gender equality initiatives.

Representatives from DWP across various institutions attended, with over 100 participants engaging both in person and online.

According to Dr. Barokah Isdaryanti, M.Pd., Chairwoman of DWP UNNES, women play two crucial roles: domestic and public.

“Women must possess the willingness to develop themselves and their creativity to remain key players in successful development,” added Dr. Barokah.
