On Friday, October 13, 2023, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) presented educational assistance to the children of UNNES staff members. This event is part of the annual agenda organized by DWP UNNES.
The handover took place at the UNNES Rectorate building, with a total of 121 children receiving educational assistance. The recipients were children of Civil Servants with Group II and contract staff at UNNES. The children who received assistance are currently enrolled in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school.
In her speech, the Chairwoman of DWP, Karniti S. Martono, expressed hope that this educational assistance would motivate the children of staff members to excel in their studies. She also extended her gratitude to the UNNES Rector for his support in providing additional educational aid.
Delivering guidance, UNNES Rector, Dr. S. Martono, expressed his gratitude and pride toward DWP for organizing the event. According to him, this DWP initiative teaches us to be grateful and to care for the entire UNNES family for their dedication over the years.
“This event is a form of concern and also a way for us to bring joy to others,” he added.
The assistance was symbolically handed over to representatives of DWP subunits, including those from the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Faculty of Language and Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Sports Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, and the Central Office of DWP.
Although the amount of assistance provided was not large, DWP UNNES hopes that this educational aid will be beneficial and inspire the children to pursue academic excellence.
